Emotional Content
CBT and Mindfulness techniques to demonstrate how to reduce anxieties as well as understanding emotions tomake informed and impartial response to a situation. These 3 qualities are critical as they develop their careers.
Topics covered will include:
• Anxiety, what it is, how it arises, and how to control it.
• How to recognise and manage our own feelings and emotion.
• How to act appropriately under pressure by creating space between emotion and action.

Confidence in Abilities
Manage setbacks (externally or selfgenerated) in their stride. They will learn how to keep their heads when things go wrong, and it may even strengthen their resolve to dosomething.
Topics covered will include:
• Inner values, what are they, how do we find them and why are they so important.
• Validation, do we seek this, where does this come from and how do we address this?
• Optimism, why this perspective is important for self-belief and the different techniques that work to be more optimistic.

Having obtained an MSc in Psychology, Mindfulness & Compassion John is now researching how to develop resilience and treatburnout as part of a PHD.
The research that John is conducting is cutting edge. There are no interventions in the workplace that have been adequately tested and proven to work when treating burnout. Largely the results of workplace resiliency products are mixed and have no long-term effects.
John is working closely with the leading experts in this field such as the mental toughness team at AQR to produce a robust programme that is proven to develop resilience and treat burnout.
